The Magneto-inductive Rope Testing inspection technique (MRT) is a non-destructive magnetic method which does not require contact. Specifically designed for the inspection of ferromagnetic cables, this is capable of detecting worn, sheared (fatigue), heat damaged, stretched and even corroded components.
These components are normally inspected visually only on the outside, But this is not a very efficient inspection, because the internal state of the cable is not verified. Additionally, the lubrication of these cables makes visual inspection difficult and many times this cannot be done because the cables are suspended, as can be the case of cableways or the tensioners of vertical structures.
The cable is magnetically saturated, when a local defect appears, this magnetic field changes locally. The amount of magnetic flux and its path are specific of the type of damage incurred.
The distortions in the magnetic field are translated by the equipment itself into voltage differences, and plotted against time and/or space, for interpretation and reporting.
We offer a large variety of equipment, designed particularly for each industry. From lifting suspended loads, cable cars, elevators and even in the maritime industry, AMC equipment applies to all sectors. Custom development is also possible if required.
If the application requires it, permanent monitoring is also possible. Continuous monitoring of critical elements prevents interruptions in the production process, thus avoiding wasted time and money.
All AMC equipment complies with the specifications of the international standard ISO 4309.
The AMC family of equipment is certified under the European standard UNI EN 12927.
